The EU Safety Gate records seven serious alerts, all notified by Sweden, dated 25 September 2026 and 2 October 2026, on unbranded electrical appliances and electronic toys from the People's Republic of China whose solders contain lead, and in three of the seven alerts cadmium, in breach of the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU. EU importers of unbranded electrical appliances, wireless devices and electronic toys from China, Swedish distributors and online retailers of low-cost lamps, karaoke sets, mice and massage devices, EU online marketplaces listing unbranded soldered consumer electronics, and EU manufacturers placing electrical and electronic equipment with leaded solder on the Union market must immediately screen stocks and online listings of those products for lead and cadmium in solder and hold supplier test reports and technical documentation under Directive 2011/65/EU, or the equipment is withdrawn from the market and cannot be placed on the Union market.
Each notice orders withdrawal from the market. The products are a floating lamp, a wireless mouse, a dance mat game, a massage machine, a push game toy, a wireless karaoke set and a karaoke set. No brand is named. Measured lead in the solders runs from 0.82% to 82.5% by weight. Three alerts also record cadmium.

The pattern
All seven danger texts locate the breach in the solders. Lead is named in every alert. Three alerts also name cadmium: up to 57.9% lead with 0.14% cadmium, 75.8% lead with 0.34% cadmium, and 82.5% lead with 0.283% cadmium, by weight. The other four record lead alone, at up to 59.4%, 0.82%, 25.2% and 27.8% by weight. Each notice cites Directive 2011/65/EU.
All 7 products originate in the People's Republic of China. Sweden is the only notifying country. The Swedish Chemicals Agency inspection of home electronics in 2025, Enforcement 5/26, found excessive lead in 59 products, mainly in solder on circuit boards, speakers and small motors, and 83 percent of the RoHS-failing products still carried a CE mark.
Who is exposed
The audience is the Union-market seller, not the Swedish notifier: EU importers of unbranded electrical appliances, wireless devices and electronic toys from China; Swedish distributors and online retailers of low-cost lamps, karaoke sets, mice and massage devices; EU online marketplaces listing unbranded soldered consumer electronics; and EU manufacturers placing electrical and electronic equipment with leaded solder on the Union market. No brand is named, so a listing cannot be cleared by brand match.
What to check now
- Match warehouse stock and live listings to the seven products in the table, including unbranded floating lamps, wireless mice, dance mat games, massage machines, push game toys and karaoke sets.
- Ask the supplier for the solder test report on lead and, where the bill of materials uses the same joint, cadmium, for the homogeneous material that was soldered.
- Hold the technical documentation required under Directive 2011/65/EU for each model still offered in the Union.
- Treat a CE mark as a claim to verify: Enforcement 5/26 found that 83 percent of the RoHS-failing products in that inspection still carried one.
Continuous per-jurisdiction monitoring is how a compliance team sees a Safety Gate batch of this kind on the day Sweden notifies it.
