How Obsidian uses AI
Obsidian carries the swiss made software plus AI label. The label asks us to say plainly what AI means in our product. Here it is, without marketing.
Hosting
Obsidian is operated as a SaaS service. The application is hosted on European cloud infrastructure, and it is developed and operated from Switzerland.
What AI does here
AI is used for narrow, well defined tasks. It classifies regulatory documents and news, for example which jurisdiction, which industry or which topic a publication belongs to. It recognises and extracts text and dates from official publications. It deduplicates and summarises. And in the regulatory AI it answers questions from our verified corpus, with the official source cited.
Level and models
We do not train or operate a foundation model of our own. We build on third party large language models accessed through APIs, combined with our own retrieval, rules and verification layer.
Customisation
Behaviour is shaped by prompts, by retrieval and by deterministic checks, rather than by fine tuning.
People
Every answer points to its official source, and the regulatory experts on the customer's team keep every decision. The AI is a companion, not a regulatory expert.
